THE 4TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF THE 1 CORPS

To commemorate the 4th Anniversary of the 1 Corps, a series of programmes were organized at the Headquarters of 1 Corps under the guidance of Major General KHMS Wickramarathne RSP, the Commander of the 1 Corps.

The anniversary celebration was conducted giving precedence to religious observances. Accordingly interfaith religious observances were ceremonially conducted on 15 and 16 October 2025 at the Kilinochchi Lumbini Viharaya, St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church and Murukkandi Hindu Kovil

In line with the 1 Corps Day Celebrations on 17 October 2025, a ceremonial Guard Turnout was respectfully presented to Major General KHMS Wickramarathne RSP, the Commander of 1 Corps, by the troops of 8th Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery. Subsequently, the Commander posed for a group photograph with Officers and Other Ranks. To commemorate this significant milestone, the Commander of 1 Corps ceremonially planted a Sandalwood sapling within the premises of the headquarters complex, marking the occasion with a gesture of remembrance and growth, followed by a formal troop address, during which he appreciated their dedication, discipline, and unwavering commitment to duty. The series of anniversary commemorative events culminated with a cordial fellowship among all ranks, held in the evening, symbolizing unity and camaraderie within the 1 Corps.
