3 GR CLINCHES CHAMPIONSHIP IN 53 INFANTRY DIVISION VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

According to the concept of the Major General KHMS Wickramaratne RSP, Genaral Officer Commanding 53 Infantry Division, organized a Volleyball Tournament with the aim of developing the harmony and unity of the troops of Brigade and Battalion under Command to Division, with the guidance of Deputy GOC. The “GOC’s Challenging Trophy” Volley ball tournament was held on 53 Infantry Division Volleyball ground from 12.12.2024 to 15.12.2024.

The final match of this Volley ball tournament was held on 15.12.2024 between the 3 Gajaba Regiment team and the 6 Sri Lankan Light Infantry team with the participation of the GOC and Deputy GOC, Brigade Commanders, COs and other senior officers. There are 16 teams were participating for this tournament among those 3 Gajaba Regiment team won the “GOC’s Challenging Trophy” and 6 Sri Lankan Light Infantry team secured the runner-up.

S/332131 L/Cpl Jayasundara JAN of 6 Sri Lanka Infantry won as the Best Attacker and S/487244 Pte Bagawattage NA won as the Best Setter, S/488436 Pte Kapugamage DR, Won the Best Player of 3 Gajaba Regiment showing their individual performances.
