Seva Vanitha

Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps organized a health camp for the wives of officers and Other Ranks of the Corps and for female soldiers of the Corps on 13 March 2014 at the Signal Regimental Premises in Panagoda. This health camp was conducted in parallel with World Women\'s Day 2014 which fell on 8th March 2014. Dr Asanga Hemantharathna and his medical team was the resource personal from the General Hospital Colombo. During this event, the medical team examined nearly 40 ladies for different sickness, which are often commonly found in the country today.

On 24th May 2014, Mrs Sepali Samarasinghe assumed duties as the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch-Sri Lanka Signal Corps. The ceremony was held at the Regimental Officers\' Mess, Panagoda along with Annual General Meeting. Having assumed duties as the new President, Mrs Sepali Samarasinghe discussed about the future activities that she intends to conduct during the year at length, with the many other ladies who graced the occasion. A presentation was also conducted by Maj Anurada Mendis explaining Customs, Norms and Etiquettes to the ladies who were present.

President and members of Seva Vanitha Branch, Sri Lanka Signal Corps visited the Ward No-06 of Mulleriyawa Hospital and offered a scrumptious lunch for mentally handicapped inmates on 30th June 2014.rnrnThe event was followed with few donations to fulfill the daily needs of inmates.

Sri Lanka Signal Corps Seva Vanitha unit members with the aim of finding the well-being of the family of the fallen War Hero, Major W.M.B.S Wanninayake visited his house at Wattala on February 4. The Seva Vanitha team, led by Mrs Sandamali Abeysekara, Chairperson, Sri Lanka Signal Corps Seva Vanitha Unit during their stay with family members of the fallen War Hero exchanged pleasantries and inquired into their requirements, if any. Before their departure, the visitors gave away gift parcels to them and wished them good luck.
