Seva Vanitha

Disabled soldier, S/281553 Corporal Weerappriya KHD of 7 SLSC received a wheelchair and a pair of elbow crutches from the Seva Vanitha Branch - Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC). The soldier was disabled due to a trapping blast in the operational area at Nochchikulam and lost both of his legs in the year 2008.

The Seva Vanitha Branch of Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC-SVB) in close cooperation with the SLSC regimental centre at Panagoda this morning (4) held a donation ceremony to distribute stock of 24 tablet devices among the most deserving school children of other rankers and civil staff who are serving in the SLSC since many students in SLSC families were found unable to afford such exorbitant purchases, inevitably required for online studies during this pandemic era’s e-learning process. Following arrangements were put in place at the regimental centre conference hall by the SLSC SVB.

In parallel to the world children’s day, Signal Seva Vanitha Children’s day program - 2021 was held with the direction of the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps Major General PAJ Peiris ndu and the president of the Signal Seva Vanitha Branch Mrs Sajeewani Peiris, to encourage children. The program was held with the participation of Hon. President and Executive committee members of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps Seva Vanitha branch on 9th October 2021 at the regimental Centre conference hall. A cross-section of schoolchildren of Other Rankers who are serving in the Sri Lanka Signal Corps participated in the event. gift voucher worth Rs 1000 and other gifts were symbolically awarded for children who participated and other gift vouchers were awarded to officers of respective regiments to distribute among children who did not participate. Due to the covid health guidelines, only limited numbers participated in the event.

Sri Lanka Signal Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLSC-SVB) organized its monthly meeting on 21 March 2021 at the Regimental Centre Officers’ Mess.
