The 73rd Anniversary of the Corps of Signals accentuated in attaining the Sacred Blessings of the Noble Triple Gems for the wellness and divine contentment of All Ranks. The religious activities started in the evening on 15 October 2016 next to a colorful cultural procession with the participation of troops from all Signals units to accompany Buddhist Priests to start the overnight Pirith Chanting observance. Colonel Commandant Maj Gen KRP Rowel RWP USP ndu psc together with many serving officers, Chairperson of the Signals Seva Vanitha Branch Mrs Ramya Kumari Rowel together with members of the Signals Seva Vanitha Branch and the family members of the deceased servicemen of the Corps of Signals attended the ceremony and observed their best dedicated calmness in merit of all fallen and peace of mind in disabled.

The 73rd Anniversary celebrations of the Corps of Signals commenced with the inauguration of the Buddhist Contemplation Shrine held in the early morning on 15 October 2016, Full Moon Poya Day at the Signals Regimental Centre premises. Identifying the requirement of inculcating and maintaining a higher state of spiritual and moral values that are required for peaceful thoughts and minds to preserve both physical and mental discipline in all members, Corps of Signals completely uplifted its old Buddhist Shrine \"Budhu Madura\" into a new Buddhist Contemplation Shrine. Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals Maj Gen KRP Rowel RWP USP ndu psc unveiled the inauguration plaque and the new \"Samadhi Buddha Statue\" at the auspicious time of 0556 hrs in a milky pious milieu while Buddhist priests were offering the Blessings of the Noble Triple Gems. This astonishing occasion was graced by many Senior Officers, Officers, Senior Non Commissioned Officers and Other Ranks of Corps.
