Sri Lanka Signal Corps with the intention of expediting fund raising campaign, a Gingerly Rolls project was launched at the Regimental Centre premises at Panagoda. The project was declared open by the Chief Signal Officer of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Major General KAWS Ratnayake ndc during a brief ceremony held on 25 May 2023.

A modernized Cougar Radio system modified by 10th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps for smooth conduct of special urban operations by Special Forces was handed over to Maj WRASM Ranasinghe WWV RWP RSP, the Commanding Officer of 4th Regiment Special Forces on Tuesday (02) at the Office of Chief Signal Officer by Major General KAWS Ratnayake ndu, the Chief Signal Officer of Sri Lanka Army.

Both Officers and Other Ranks of the Corps of Signals held their festive event of the New Year 2023 on Friday, 21 April 2023 at Regimental Center Playground Panagoda. The ceremony was graced by Maj Gen K A W S Ratnayake ndu, the Chief Signal Officer of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals as the Chief Guest. Lighting of the traditional oil lamp by the Chief Guest and the playing of the National Anthem and the Signal Anthem signed the formal commencement of the festival. The attendance by the Chairperson of the Signals Seva Vanitha Branch Mrs Nalini Ratnayake together with many members and families of Officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment added much glamour to the dynamic event.

Under the patronage of Major General KAWS Ratnayake ndu, the Chief Signal Officer of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps and with his invitation, well reputed scholar Prof. Suranga Nanayakkara from National University of Singapore participated as the guest speaker, for a special Diners’ Club organized by Sri Lanka Signals Corps at Regimental Officers’ Mess, Panagoda at 1900 hrs onwards on 04 April 2023.

After assuming his new office, the 10th Chief Signal Officer of the Sri Lanka Army and the 16th Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps Major General KAWS Ratnayake ndu made his first official visit to School of Signals on 24 March 2023. He was warmly welcomed by the Commandant - School of Signals and accorded a Guard Turnout at the entrance as a formal military tradition. Further, a glamorous guard of honour was offered by the School of Signals in order to mark his inaugural visit as the Chief Signal Officer and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps. According to the itinerary, he planted a Mango sapling at the camp premises before he posed for a photograph with all the staff of the School of Signals.

The Chief Signal Officer and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Major General H M L D Herath RSP VSV USP psc visited 9th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps Iranamadu on 12 February 2023. This was his final official visit to the 9th Regiment after assuming duties as the Chief Signal Officer & the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signals Corps.
