  • BRIGADIER PRABATH DEMATAMPITIYA OF THE CORPS OF SIGNALS TAKES OFFICE AS GOC OF 56 DIVISION

    Brigadier Prabath Dematampitiya of the Corps of Signals assumed duties as the new General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 56 Division during a brief ceremony held on Wednesday, 18 April 2018.

  • NEW DIRECTOR IT ASSUMES DUTIES

    Brigadier Prasad Akuranathilake of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) took over the duties as the new Director of the Directorate of Information Technology (DIT) on 16th April 2018 in the midst of religious observances and military formalities. He symbolically signed the first official document at his new office in the Corps of Signals premises Panagoda, signifying the acceptance of new appointment in the presence of many Senior Signal Officers. The series of activities pertaining to the ceremony were included with a staff-tea followed by the briefing of the Staff and Project Officers of the Directorate of IT.

  • CORPS OF SIGNALS TURN OUT WITH ANOTHER MILITARY SECRETARY AT THE AHQ

    The Sri Lanka Signal Corps proudly turned out another Military Secretary (MS) to the Sri Lanka Army. The Commander of the Army has newly appointed Major General B H M A Wijesinghe USP ndu psc as the MS with effect from 12th April 2018. He took over the duties in his new office during a brief ceremony held at the MS Branch of the Army Headquarters on Thursday, 12 April 2018.

  • SIGNALLERS’ NEW YEAR FESTIVAL 2018

    Corps of Signals held their festive event of the New Year 2018 on Saturday, 07th April 2018 with the participation of both Officers and Other Ranks of the Corps of Signals who are serving at the HQCSO, Directorate of IT, Signals Brigade, Signals Regimental Centre, 5 SLSC, 10 SLSC, 11 SLSC, 12 SLSC and representative troops from other Signal Units. Major General Nilantha Hettiarachchi graced the occasion representing the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals Major General Ajith Wijesinghe during his absence caused by an official commitment in overseas. Chairperson of the Signals Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs Arosha Wijesinghe, member ladies and their children, senior officers and officers of the Corps of Signals and many number of families of the Other Ranks too gathered at the Regimental playground where the ceremony was held.

    Official Logo of the 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) was unveiled by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, attending as the Chief Guest of the Logo and Web Launching Ceremony and the Media Briefing conducted in the evening on Wednesday, 28th March 2018 at “The Blue” Conference Hall of Hilton - Colombo.

  • COMMANDER SPELLS OUT THE FUTURE ROLE UNIQUE TO SIGNALLERS DURING THE SIGNALS-INITIATED MEDIA BRIEFING CONDUCTED TO INSTIGATE THE EVENTS OF ITS 75TH ANNIVERSARY

    “The specialty in the ‘cyber space’ and related activities is that it will not restricted only to militarily strong countries in the world but also any others who are interested becoming a dominant figure in the cyber space since any country in the today’s world is potential to multidimensional cyber threats. Hence, even Sri Lanka could develop necessary cyber skills to face the future trends and threats that are possible in all affairs. Accordingly, being in the midst of today’s context of globalization and technological advancement, I believe that Sri Lanka Army should further strengthen cyber security widely aligned with all the aspects of military involvements in the cyber space and related activities. For this purpose, Sri Lanka Signal Corps is the foremost body in the Sri Lanka Army to conduct C5I (Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Cyber and Intelligence) that are indispensable in the perpetual battlefront, which will ensure a capacity based sustainable Army in the future” said the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, attending as the Chief Guest of Logo and Web Launching Ceremony of the 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) and the Media Briefing conducted on Wednesday, 28th March 2018 at “The Blue” Conference Hall of Hilton - Colombo.

    The Corps of Signals conducted a formal ceremony in felicitation of Major General N M Hettiarachchi USP psc Hdmc on 23rd March 2018 at the Signals Regimental Centre premises on his recent promotion as a Two Star General.

  • SIGNAL OFFICERS' TRAINING DAY OF THE 1ST QUARTER 2018

    Quarterly Officers Training Day of the Corps of Signals for the 1st Quarter of the year 2018 was held at the Signal Regimental Centre on 21 March 2018. A Considerable number of senior officers and officers enthusiastically participated the whole day programme. The training programme started with an Aerobic session at 0600 hrs that followed the group breakfast at the Officers’ Mess. Then a period of time was allocated in the programme for all the young officers who were present to practice essential Sward Drills.

    Brigadier N M Hettiarachchi USP psc Hdmc of the Corps of Signals was promoted to the rank of Major General on 14th March 2018 with effect from 28th January 2018.

  • FELICITATION TO THE WINNERS OF WUSHU AND CHESS - 2017

    Sri Lanka Signal Corps organized a brief felicitation ceremony for the Signallers who became winners of Inter Regiment Wushu and Chess Champions of year 2017 on 19th February 2018 at the Signal Regimental Headquarters premises. Major General B H M A Wijesinghe USP ndu psc, Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps and Chief Signal Officer praised and appreciated all the winners of both Inter Regiment Wushu and Chess Tournaments.
