  • SIGNALS COMMENCED THE GLORIOUS 75TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS BY COMMEMORATING THE FALLEN HEROES

    Sri Lanka Signal Corps reaches its Glorious 75th Anniversary on 19th October 2018 and the Corps has organized a series of formal events in line with the military traditions and professional backgrounds for the celebrations. Commencing the first programme of the celebrations, Corps of Signals ceremonially conducted the “Remembrance Ceremony” in tribute to the fallen brave-men on 13th October 2018 before the Corps of Signals Monument at the Signal Regimental Centre, Panagoda.

    The Corps of Signals conducted a formal ceremony on 18th September 2018 at the Signals Regimental Centre premises in felicitation of two senior officers who were promoted as Two Star Generals, Major General DAPN Dematanpitiya ndu psc and Major General HP Seneviratne USP ndu.

    Brigadier H P Seneviratne USP ndu of the Corps of Signals was promoted to the rank of Major General on 06th September 2018 with effect from 31st August 2018.

    The General Officer Commanding 56 Division, Brigadier DAPN Dematanpitiya ndu psc of Sri Lanka Signal Corps was promoted to the rank of Major General by His Excellency the President on 28 August 2018 for his dedicated service rendered and sheer commitment towards the best interest of the nation throughout his 33 years long illustrated military career. He wore his new ranks in a brief ceremony held after paying homage at Madukanda Temple on 29 August 2018.

  • COLONEL COMMANDANT OF THE CORPS OF SIGNALS VISITED 7TH SIGNAL REGIMENT

    The Military Secretary of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Major General B H M A Wijesinghe USP ndu psc made his 3rd official visit to the 7th Signal Regiment deployed in Diyatalawa on 12th August 2018.

  • New RITTIs of the Army to Facilitate More & More Under Privileged Students - Commander

    The newest Ranaviru Information Technology Training Institute (RITTI) of the Army, established at the Army Logistic School (ALS) in Trincomalee was vested in spouses and children of retired and serving Army personnel, brothers and sisters of unmarried Army personnel and also among underprivileged school students in Trincomalee this morning (3) during a brief ceremony, graced by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake.

  • DEMISE OF COLONEL J N WICKRAMAARACHCHI (RTD) USP

    It is with deep regret and profound sadness that pronounce the demise of Colonel J N Wickramaarachchi (RTD) USP, on 18 July 2018.

    Jinendra Natha Wickramaarachchi was born on 09 December 1955 as the third child to a respectable family in Colombo. Master Jinendra Natha Wickramaarachchi had his education from Kotahena Madya Maha Vidyalaya, Colombo and excelled in both academics and sports. He proved himself as an outstanding character by representing the school’s sports team and the Cadet Platoon.

    ‘Cavalry Supercross-2018,’ the pet project of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC), which collects the island’s cream of drivers and riders for a stunning spectacle got underway at Pangolla on Sunday (8) amid a record gathering of spectators and motor fans.

    A highlight in Sri Lanka’s motor racing calendar, the event flagged off in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders (SLARDAR), featuring the island’s finest drivers and riders in action.
