    ‘Cavalry Supercross-2018,’ the pet project of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC), which collects the island’s cream of drivers and riders for a stunning spectacle got underway at Pangolla on Sunday (8) amid a record gathering of spectators and motor fans.

    A highlight in Sri Lanka’s motor racing calendar, the event flagged off in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders (SLARDAR), featuring the island’s finest drivers and riders in action.

  • SIGNAL OFFICERS’ TRAINING DAY OF THE 2ND QUARTER 2018

    Quarterly Officers Training Day of the Corps of Signals for the 2nd Quarter of the year 2018 was held at the Signal Regimental Centre on 28 June 2018. The training programme started with an introductory Yoga session that was held at the main auditorium from 0600 hrs to 0700 hrs. As per the programme of the day, after the group breakfast at the Officers’ Mess till 0730 hrs, a period was allocated for all the young officers who were present to practice essential Sward Drills.

    His Excellency, the President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, awarded the prestigious Vishishta Seva Vibhushanaya (VSV) decoration that recognizes unblemished service of 50 serving and retired senior armed services personnel during a dignified ceremony held at the Presidential Secretariat on the National War Heroes' Day (May 19). VSV Medal recognizes the outstanding and unblemished service of 25 years in respective forces and considered the highest military decoration and a tribute that can be achieved during the course of an officer’s career.

    The 15th day of May 2018 marked a red-letter day in the contemporary history of the School of Signals, Sri Lanka Army, as the state of the art Communication Technology Training Laboratory (CTT Lab) was inaugurated in the School of Signals by Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) of Indian Army, General Bipin Rawat UYSM AVSM YSM SM VSM ADC, participating as the Chief Guest of the ceremony held at the School of Signals.

    Major General N M Hettiarachchi USP psc Hdmc assumed his new office as the Chief Signal Officer (CSO) on 23rd April 2018 during a brief ceremony rich with military formalities held at the Headquarters Chief Signal Officer (HQ CSO) in Panagoda.

  • NEW DIRECTOR IT ASSUMES DUTIES

    Brigadier Prasad Akuranathilake of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) took over the duties as the new Director of the Directorate of Information Technology (DIT) on 16th April 2018 in the midst of religious observances and military formalities. He symbolically signed the first official document at his new office in the Corps of Signals premises Panagoda, signifying the acceptance of new appointment in the presence of many Senior Signal Officers. The series of activities pertaining to the ceremony were included with a staff-tea followed by the briefing of the Staff and Project Officers of the Directorate of IT.
