The 32nd Anniversary of the 4th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps were celebrated on 05 June 2023 and a series of events was organized at the Regiment Headquarters in Anuradhapura, under the patronage of the Commanding Officer of the 4th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Lieutenant Colonel RDRM Fernando RSP USP psc.
Commencing the series of events, a cricket and a volleyball tournament was organized to enhance comradeship among troops on 27 and 28 May 2023. A Shramadana Campaign was also conducted with the contribution of troops at Shanthi Sewana elders’ home, which was followed by a charity drive (alms giving) at Abhaya Orphanage.
Later, in commemoration of the anniversary, a pirith chanting ceremony was held on 02 & 03 June 2023 at the headquarter premises and the following day morning, an alms-giving (Heel Dana) was offered to 07 Buddhist monks to invoke blessing to fallen war heroes, all serving and retired members of 4 SLSC and civil staff members attached to the unit.
In line with the Regiment Day’s programme on 5 June 2023, the unit accorded a ceremonial Guard Turnout to the Commanding Officer upon his arrival at the main entrance that was followed by a ceremonial parade. Later, the anniversary lunch was held at private mess with the participation of all ranks. The series of annual ceremonial and commemorative events reached its conclusion with the Commanding Officer’s troops address at the end of the All Ranks Lunch.
