Colonel BD Fernando USP psc, the Commandant School of Signals has relinquished his duties on 15 May 2023.
He was awarded a Guard Turnout in accordance with military traditions and later received the salute of the Ceremonial Parade presented by troops serving at the School of Signals. Subsequently the outgoing Commandant posed for a group photograph with the troops after planting a Sandalwood sapling in camp premises.
Later on, the Commandant addressed the troops and extends his gratitude for the invaluable support extended by all Officers and Other Ranks throughout his tenure. Afterwards he joined for an all ranks tea. As the final session of the ceremony, officers of permanent staff arranged a ceremonial farewell dinner for the outgoing Commandant and during the get together he shared his thoughts with Officers gathered and expressed his blessings for the future of the School of Signals.
