In view of upcoming Sinhala & Tamil New Year Celebration, a trade fair organized by the Seva Vanitha Branch of Sri Lanka Signal Corps was held at the Playground, Regimental Headquarters of Sri Lanka Signal Corps - Panagoda on 11 April 2023.
Signal Brigade, RHQ SLSC, All Units, School of Signals and Seva Vanitha Branch of Corps of Signals participated with their trade stalls to provide day-to-day home needs of Officers and Other Ranks who serve in the Army Cantonment, Panagoda, whilst making reasonable profits for respective establishments in order to uplift the welfare facilities of Officers and Soldiers. The trade fair mainly catered for Food Items, Clothing, Plants and many other house hold items. The goods were sold at a concessionary price, adding much value to the Officers/Soldiers’ welfare.
The Chairperson of Signal Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs Nalini Ratnayake and the Chief Signal Officer of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps Maj Gen KAWS Ratnayake ndu graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honor respectively. The event, entertained by ‘Waves’ music and was attended by many Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks along with their family members. Moreover, as per the guidelines received by Army Headquarters arranged and distributed Dry Ration packs which included essential and valuable day today needs among the 44 x Civil Servants who are working at Signal Brigade, RHQ SLSC, 10 SLSC, 11 SLSC and 12 SLSC in order to make the event more remarkable.
