SIGNAL WOMEN ATHLETES CLAIM RUNNERS-UP TITLE AT 58TH ARMY ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIP

Women Athletes of Sri Lanka Signal Corps became the Runners-up by securing 204 marks at the 58th Army Athletic meet, held at Mahinda Rajapaksha Stadium, Diyagama on 29, 30 and 31 March 2023. As special achievements, Signal Woman Safiya MYF of 2(V) SLSC won the first place in the women 100m and Lance Corporal Kumarasinghe KGDMS 2(V) SLSC won the first place in women 800m.

Other outstanding performances of the Signal women athletes are as follows:

1 Signal woman Seuwandi SPH (2(V) SLSC) – 2nd place in women Shot Put.

2 Signal woman Abyrathana APMSK (2(V) SLSC) – 2nd place in women 400m hurdles.

3 Signal woman Abeyrathne ATMSK (2(V) SLSC) - 3rd place in women 400m hurdles.

4 Signal woman Kumarasinghe KWGBMS (2(V) SLSC) - 2nd place in women 400 m.

5 Signal woman De Silva KNI (2(V) SLSC) – 2nd place in women Discus Throw.

6 Sri Lanka Signal Corps Women 100 x 4 Relay team - 2nd place in the women 100x 4 relay.
