7th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Cops proudly celebrated its 15th Anniversary on 08February 2023.
As the first event of the corps day programme, Inter Squadron Cricket matches and Volleyball matches were held on 21 and 22 January 2023.
The Commanding Officer and All Ranks of the unit conducted several religious programs to commemorate all war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the motherland. A Bhoodi Pooja Pinkama and flag blessing event was held at Mahamewna Asapuwa Kumbalwela on 27 January 2023. An overnight Pirith Chanting ceremony was conducted in the evening with the attendance of parents and relatives of fallen war heroes on 01 February 2023. The event started with a colorful cultural procession presented by troops of the unit that accompanied Buddhist Monks to start the overnight Pirith Chanting. An almsgiving organized on following day morning and this was followed by an event organized to appreciate parents of fallen war heroes. Each family of deceased soldiers were awarded memento for remembering war heroes.
Troops of the unit had also organized a Shramadana event at Sirisangabo Children’s home at Bandarawela and in the following day a variety show and Dhana ceremony was held for 19 children at Mercury House Holiday Bungalow with the participation of Commander, FMA (Central), Major General KAWS Ratnayake ndu and respective audience.
On 08 February 2023 the anniversary day event commenced with Guard Turnout followed by a Ceremonial Parade to the Commanding Officer at the parade ground. The event was followed by an All Ranks’ Lunch.
7th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps also hosted an All Ranks’ Get - Together with the participation of Commander Security Force (Central), Maj Gen WRMM Rathnayake RWP RSP USP ndu and Commandant Sri Lanka Military Academy, Maj Gen IANB Perera RWP USP ndu psc on 10 January 2023. Moreover this event became more colorful with grand musical show, dancing items and fireworks organized in line.
