2 (V) Sri Lanka Signal Corps troops contributed their technical expertise and manpower towards the construction of a new house to one of their brother soldiers who is suffering with nerve damage in the spinal cord.
The construction of the house was commenced on the request made to the Chairperson of Sri Lanka Signal Corps - Seva Vanitha Unit (SLSC-SVU), Mrs. Shashika Herath by the diseased soldier, S/2C00761 Lance Corporal Mohotti MMRMK RSP. The financial assistant was provided by the Headquarters Chief Signal Office, Signals Seva Vanitha Branch and 2 (V) Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps.
On Monday (27), in a brief ceremony, the new house in Dalukana, Polonnaruwa, was handed over to the soldier’s family at an auspicious time in the presence of the president of the Signal Seva Vanitha branch and other members.
Commanding Officer of 2 (V) Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Major KVA Kodikara psc, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, beneficiaries and villagers also witnessed the ceremony.
