SRI LANKA SIGNAL CORPS SHINE IN AWARDING CEREMONY OF INTER REGIMENT WUSHU TOURNAMENT

The Sri Lanka Army Inter Regiment Wushu Championship 2023 was successfully held at Sri Lanka Sinha Regimental Center Ambepussa on 25th January to 27th January. Colonel of The Regiment Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Major General GRRP Jayawardena RWP RSP ndu was also present among the spectators in the finals and awarding ceremony. 9 athletes participated for the tournament representing the Sri Lanka Signal Corps.

Signals Wushu Team won 01 Gold medal, 03 Silver medals and 02 Bronze medals in the tournament.

1. Gold medal

• 75kg weight category – S/287838 Sgm Dhananjaya DMM - 7 SLSC

2. Silver medals

• 48kg weight category – S/280734 Cpl Chaminda HD - 7 SLSC

• 56kg weight category –S/283177 Cpl Ajith Kumara RP - 7 SLSC

• 60kg weight category – S/288381 Sgm Herath HMSD - 7 SLSC

3. Bronze medals

• 90kg weight category – S/280008 S/Sgt Madawala HMLC - 1 SLSC

• 90kg weight category –S/2802147 Cpl Wijebandara HPPWNIK - 4 SLSC
