3 SLSC TROOPS BID FAREWELL TO OUTGOING COMMANDING OFFICER

3rd Signal Regiment bade farewell to outgoing Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel NPA Mendis psc on 29 January 2021 at their Regimental Headquarters.

Outgoing Commanding Officer in conformity with military traditions was warmly welcomed by the acting Second in Command, Major TSE Fernando SLSC and accorded a Guard Turnout on his arrival at the main entrance.

Then he laid a floral wreath at the War Heroes’ monument in remembrance of fallen War Heroes of 3 SLSC and thereafter he left memories by planting a sapling in front of the Regimental Headquarters to mark his final remarks in the unit as the Commanding Officer.

Subsequently, he addressed the troops at unit. At the end of his address the acting Second in Command presented a memento in appreciating his exemplary service rendered to the 3SLSC during his tenure as Commanding Officer.

Finally , outgoing Commanding Officer declared open the ‘Suhada Piyasa ‘ public house of the NCOs’ Club and followed by tea party with all ranks at the same venue where he shared his thoughts with Officers and Other Ranks who are serving in the SF HQ (J) AOR.
