7 SLSC TROOPS BID FAREWELL FOR OUTGOING CHIEF SIGNAL OFFICER

7th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps bid farewell for the retiring Chief Signal Officer Major General WPAK Thilakarathna psc on 22nd January 2021 at their Regiment Headquarters.

Outgoing Chief Signal Officer in conformity with military traditions was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel MR Hammem USP and accorded a Guard Turnout on his arrival at the main entrance.

Subsequently, Major General WPAK Thilakarathna psc addressing all troops emphasized that all signalers need to harness professionalism whilst preserving highest standard of discipline during their career. At the end of his address the Commanding Officer presented a memento in appreciating his exemplary service rendered during his military career.

Later Chief Signal Officer joined for an all ranks tea party where he shared his thoughts with Officers and Other Ranks and finally he left a couple of thoughts and compliments in the ‘Unit Visitors’ Book.

Before concluding the day’s itinerary, he left memories by planting an Ironwood sapling in front of the Parade Ground.
