CHIEF SIGNAL OFFICER REVIEWED THE \'EXERCISE CORMORANT STRIKE 2017\'

The Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals and the Chief Signal Officer (CSO), Major General B H M A Wijesinghe USP ndu psc made his visit to the combined military exercise of Sri Lanka armed forces “Exercise Cormorant Strike 2017” on 07 September 2017 at Minneriya to inspect Signalers’ involvement in the provision of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the field. Exercise Cormorant Strike is the multi-national Field Training Exercise (FTX) unique to the Sri Lankan context, organized by the Sri Lanka Army that was launched on 3rd September 2017 with the participation of Sri Lankan tri-forces and 69 foreign participants representing 13 countries around the world. This is the successful 8th consecutive year of the exercise whereas in all years the Signallers played a vital role displaying their best proficiency in the field of ICT. Under the directions of the Headquarters Chief Signal Officer (HQCSO), Directorate of IT and Signal Brigade supervised proper function of the ICT component of whole exercise that was organized and carried out by 4 SLSC, 6 SLSC (IT), 10 SLSC (CT), 12 SLSC (Cyber Security) and 2 (V) SLSC with the support of all other Classic and IT Signal Regiments.
