SIGNALMAN DE SILVA BK BEAT THE NATIONAL CHAMPION AT THE COMMANDO SUPER CROSS 2017
The Commando Super Cross organized by the Commando Regiment (CR) of the Sri Lanka Army was held on 16th of July 2017 at the Uva Kuda Oya Supper Cross Track. This mega event was well poised with the participation over 100 leading racing drivers and riders to test their dreadful skills over the machines.
Signalman De Silva won the Group MX RACING over 100cc up to 125cc (2T) by beating the National Champion Ishan Dassanyaka. It was most fascinating event in the Commando Super Cross this year. Ishan Dassnayaka led the event until the final lap but De Silva followed and surpassed him and won the title by beating a National Champion. At the end of this completion, Signalman De Silva finally wraped up the following titles:
Group MX RACING over 100cc up to 125cc (2T) – Champion
Group MX RACING over 175cc up to 250cc (2T) - 2nd Runner Up
The achievement of this young promising Signaller was appreciated by the Colonel Commandant Major General B H M A Wijesinghe USP ndu psc and all the members of the Corps of Signals. Having met the rider after the event, the Colonel Commandant further mentioned that our appreciation should be extended to the Sri Lanka Army Drivers and Riders Association and to the Team Signals for their tremendous efforts.
