The "Rana Sura Padakkama" (RSP) Gallantry Medals Awarding Ceremony of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps
The "Rana Sura Padakkama" (RSP) Gallantry Medals Awarding Ceremony of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) was held graciously in the evening on 18thDecember 2013 at the Auditorium of the Regimental Centre SLSC. The event was held under the patronage of Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signal Major General E P De Z Abeysekera USP as the Chief Guest representing His Excellency the President of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Many other senior officers, officers and Other Ranks participated to witness the event of awarding Gallantry Medals for 142 recipients.
During this ceremony, 17 Next-of- Kins (parents/wives) of war heroes who sacrificed their lives in action, 13 retired officers and Other Ranks and 112 serving veterans including who injured in action and continue to serve a total of 142 were awarded with "Rana Sura Padakkama" by the Chief Guest.
