SLSC Inter-Unit Body Building and Weight Lifting Championship
School of Signals hosted the Inter-Unit Body Building and Weightlifting Championships of 2013 according to the Annual Sport Calendar on 25 and 26 June 2013. Event was conducted under the patronage of Lt Col R Elvitigala SLSC, the Commandant of School of Signals as the Chief Guest. Body building competition was an attractive show of Signallers as to how they have transformed their bodies into the form of hunks of muscularity. Large numbers of spectators were evident for how far they had pushed their bodies into the competition. Close contest was ended up with 3 SLSC and 9 SLSC scoring equal marks. Both regiments crowned the 1st place and 11 SLSC became Runners-up.
Weight Lifting Championship too was held at the same venue. There were 32 competitors who displayed their skills in front of the professional judges$ panel, which was comprised of Army and civil referees. Lifting had to display their skills under Squat, Bench-Press and Deg-lift styles. 3 SLSC comprehensively dominated the event and won the 1st place. 9 SLSC and 11 SLSC became 2nd and 3rd runners ups.
