Brig IHMRK Herath USP psc was recently recognized with the title 'ndc' by the National Defence College of India as he was graduated after the successful completion of the 61st National Security and Strategic Studies Course held from 01 February 2021 to 26 November 2021.
OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS - MAJOR WPDN ABEYRATHNE SLSC
Major WPDN Abeyrathne SLSC became the first in order of merit in UCC Course No 7 held in OCDC, Buttala surpassing 23 officers. This course was held from 13 July 2020 to 09 October 2020. Major Abeyrathna was currently serving as the second in command of 3rd Regiment of Sri Lanka Signal Corps.

Major TSNK Peiris SLSC became the first in order of merit in JCC Course No 19 held in OCDC, Buttala which was held from 13 July 2020 to 09 October 2020 surpassing 60 Officers.
OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS - CAPTAIN TK RAMASINGHE SLSC
Captain TK Ramasinghe SLSC became the first in order of merit in JSC Course No 19 held in OCDC, Buttala which was held from 13 July 2020 to 09 October 2020 surpassing 53 Officers.
PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS - BRIG KAWS RATHNAYAKA ndu
Brig KAWS Rathnayaka ndu was recently recognized with the title ‘ndu’by the National Defence University of Pakistan as he was graduated after the successful completion of the National Security and War Course held from 19 August 2019 to 12 June 2020. At the end of the course Brig KAWS Ratahnayaka ndu was also conferred with the Master of Science degree from the same university.
OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS- MAJOR HC PAGODAARACHCHI psc SLSC
Major HC Pagodaarachchi psc SLSC was bestowed with the ‘Golden Pen Award’ for producing the bets Commadant’s Reasearch paper in DSCSC Course No 13. He was successfully recognized with the title of ‘psc’ and conferred with the Master of Strategic and Defence studies from General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.
OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS - MAJOR TMND TENNAKOON psc SLSC
Major TMND Tennakoon psc SLSC became the Second in order of merit in DSCSC Course No 12 held in DSCSC, Batalanda from 72 officers. At the end of the course, Major TMND Tennakoon psc SLSC was also conferred with Master of Strategic and Defence studies from General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.
Major TMND Tennakoon psc SLSC became the Best Foreign Student Officer in Officer Advanced Electronic Engineering Course (Communication)No 44 (part 1 and 2) and also awarded with the certificate for the best project of the course which was held from 15 July 2019 to 13 June 2020 in India.

Brig P A J Peiris was recently recognized with the title 'ndu' by the National Defence University of Pakistan as he was graduated after the successful completion of the National Security and War Course held from 06 August 2018 to 23 June 2019.
Dedication & Unblemished Career Recognized with Award of 'Vishista Seva Vibhushanaya' (VSV) Medal
Out of 65 Senior Army, Navy and Air Force Officers, Three Senior Officers belongs to Corps of Signals who have been maintaining an unblemished service record to-date received Nation's recognition on 22 May 2019 when prestigious 'Vishista Seva Vibhushanaya’ (VSV) Medal were conferred on them by HE the President Maithripala Sirisena during a state ceremony, held at the Presidential Secretariat.
Present Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps Major General NM Hettiarachchi USP psc Hdmc, and Director General of Directorate of Quality Assuarance and Inspect Major General H P Seneviratne USP ndu and former Colonel Commandant Major General B H M A Wijesinghe (Rtd) USP ndu psc received VSV medal for their disciplined, noble, obedient, exceptional and unblemished record of service in the Army.
This Medal also considered as one of the highest military decorations to recognize as a highest military achievement during the course of an Officer’s career during his life-time. With the participation of distinguished audience including Hon State Minister of Defence Mr. Ruwan Wijewardena, State Minister of Defence, Mr Udaya R Senevirathne, Secretary to the HE the President, General Shantha Kottegoda (Retd), Defence Secretary, Chief of Defence Staff and Tri-service Commanders witnessed the award ceremony.
MAJOR GENERAL RENUKA ROWEL WAS AWARDED PRESTIGIOUS VISHISHTA SEVA VIBHUSHANAYA (VSV) MEDAL
His Excellency, the President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, awarded the prestigious Vishishta Seva Vibhushanaya (VSV) decoration that recognizes unblemished service of 50 serving and retired senior armed services personnel during a dignified ceremony held at the Presidential Secretariat on the National War Heroes' Day (May 19). VSV Medal recognizes the outstanding and unblemished service of 25 years in respective forces and considered the highest military decoration and a tribute that can be achieved during the course of an officer’s career.
Major General K R P Rowel RWP USP ndu USACGSC of Sri Lanka Signal Corps was among the recipients of this prestigious medal where 25 Sri Lanka Army officers, including the Commander of the Army, 23 Sri Lanka Navy Officers including the Commander of the Navy and 2 Sri Lanka Air Force Officers, including the Commander of the Air Force received those decorations.
Major General Rowel joined the Service on 1st October 1981 as an Officer Cadet of Intake-2 of the then General Sir John Kotelawala Defence Academy. At the end of the successful training, he was awarded with the prestigious ‘Sward of Honor’ as he had secured the first in the order of merit in his intake, and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant on 1st January 1985. Since then, he has hitherto rendered his dedicated duty, honour and respect to the Corps of Signals as well as to the Army as an authentic Signaller, in the best of his ability in all the assignments entrusted to him until he was granted his retirement on 15th April 2017 at the completion of his altruistic service in the Army as a Major General with a professional status of a Chartered Engineer.
At his retirement, on the recommendation of the Commander of the Army, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and His Excellency the President has recalled Maj General Rowel into the active service on 16th April 2017 and presently he is serving as the Director General of the Research, Analysis, Project and Development Branch of the Sri Lanka Army.
OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT - MAJOR HADW HETTIARACHCHI PSC SLSC
Major H A D W Hettiarachchi psc of the Corps of Signals was able to secure the first place in the order of merit in the Unit Coaches’ course No. 38 for marksmanship by achieving the highest aggregate of 91.26% in the course surpassing 52 participants of the Tri-services. This course was held from 21st August 2017 to 17th October 2017 at the Marksmanship and Sniper Training School (MSTS) Diyatalawa. Major Hettiarachchi is currently serving as the Second in Command of the 4th Regiment SLSC, Anuradhapura.
PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS - BRIGADIER N M HETTIARACHCHI USP PSC
Brig N M Hettiarachchi USP psc was recently graduated in the Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC) held from 30 May 2016 to 31 March 2017 at the College of Defence Management (CDM) in India. As the partial curriculum of the course, Brig N M Hettiarachchi presented his dissertation on the title of 'Land usage planning for military deployment during post war scenario in North Sri Lanka'. This senior officer is the second officer in the Corps of Signals who was privileged to follow this course after couple of years.

Brig D A P N Dematanpitiya psc was recently recognized with the title 'ndu' by the National Defence University of Pakistan as he was graduated after the successful completion of the National Security and War Course held from 07 August 2016 to 23 June 2017. At the end of the course, Brig D A P N Dematanpitiya was also conferred with the Master of Science (MSc) Degree from the same university.

Brig H P Seneviratne USP was recently recognized with the title 'ndu' by the National Defence University of PLA, China as he was graduated after the successful completion of the Defence and Strategic Studies Course held from 01 September 2016 to 13 July 2017. At the end of the course, Brig H P Seneviratne was also conferred with the Advanced Diploma in Defence and Strategic Studies from the same university.

At the end of the course, Brig C M D P Chandrasekera was also conferred with the Advanced Diploma in Defence and Strategic Studies from the same university.
