Sri Lanka Signal Corps Seva Vanitha Branch donated a educational scholarship to a child of a fallen war hero on 28th July 2013 at the Officers' Mess of AHQ at a ceremony organized by Signal Seva Vanitha Branch.
The scholarship was donated to a 14 years old son of S/277908 L/Cpl Bandara DMG (6SLSC) who passed away in last month due to battle injuries suffered 15 years ago.

S/284373 Sgm Wimalasiri WAG of 3 Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps won a Gold Medal during the 91 National Athletic Championship which was held on 18 September 2013 at Sugathadasa International Stadium Colombo. Sgm Wimalasiri has reached a distance of 7.46 m of in mens$ long jump to mark his victory. Before this event, he was able to Conquer another Gold Medal for the same event during the National Sports Festival 2013 held at Nawalapitiya from 1 September 2013 to 3 September 2013.
