  • COMMANDER SIGNAL BRIGADE VISITS 7TH REGIMENT SRI LANKA SIGNAL CORPS

    The Commander Signal Brigade Col WL Premasiri USP made his maiden visit to the 7th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps Diyathalawa on 24th June 2019. On the arrival Brigade Commander was welcomed by the Commanding Officer Lt Col MR Hameem USP at the main entrance and troops awarded a ceremonial Guard Turnout. Then the Commanding Officer conducted a comprehensive briefing on the state of signal communications in Security Force (Central) AOR and there, the Brigade Commander had a lengthy discussion on communication issues with Commanding Officer and Division Signal Officers. Subsequently he planted a sapling to mark his visit and addressed the troops. The visit was concluded after the tea party with all ranks.

    The Muaythai, renowned martial art born Thailand had recently became the 53rd sports in the Sri Lanka Army. It was the brainchild of Lt Col P P C Perera psc (CO 4 SLSC) under the guidance of Colonel Commandant of SLSC. Ever Since it found roots in Sri Lankan Army sports fraternity, trainees are pooled at 4 SLSC. They do practices on daily basis under the watchful eyes Lt Col Perera who had qualified in two master grades form Thailand Cultural Commission and International Kru (Master) Association.

    The foundation – stone laying ceremony for construction of the new house of Late Sergeant Bandara KASD belonged to 2nd (Vol) Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps took place at his residence in Bowala, Gampolaon 09 June 2019. Major General NM Hettiarachchi VSV USP psc Hdmc the Colonel Commandant Sri Lanka Signal Corps who attended the event as the chief guest for the event and Madam Keshani Hettiarachchi president of Seva Vanitha Branch of corps of signal laid foundation stone at the auspicious minute for the construction of the new house.

    3rd Signal Regiment deployed in Palaly under the Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna) celebrated Sinhala Hindu New Year 2019 in a charming way in their Regiment Headquarters in the evening on 14th April 2019. According to the New Year rituals and traditions, troops of the Regiment observed religious conduct since morning hours of the day that was followed by boiling of milk and dining together the traditional foods at the auspicious time. Then the Commanding Officer distributed New Year gifts for the civilian servants who are working at the Regiment Headquarters.

  • 3 SLSC PLEDGED AGAINST ILLEGAL DRUGS DURING 'BAKMAHA DIVURUMA' NATIONAL CEREMONY

    3rd Signal Regiment pledged against Illegal Drugs as Army troops across the country expressed their solidarity with the national project, oath-taking 'BakmahaDivuruma' against drugs, its use and smuggling to ensure a country free from drugs during different arrangements at island-wide Army formations on Wednesday, 3rd April 2019.The Commanding Officer and troops of the Regiment joined this national event by reading the Oath against drugs after reciting the National Anthem and the thematic song, which was followed the address of the Commanding Officer that emphasized the soundness of the effort.
