  • 2(V) SLSC WOMEN ATHELETES BECAME THE BEST IN EASTERN GAMES - 2019

    The three day long Army Eastern Games - 2019 organized by the Security Force Headquarters (East), concluded with glamour at Security Force Headquarters (East) grounds, Welikanda on 21 September. The event was organized with an eye of providing an arena for young Army athletes to showcase their skills and engage in competition to promote sportsmanship. The Closing Ceremony was graced by the Commander Security Force (East), Major General Aruna Jayasekera as the Chief Guest.

  • CORPS OF SIGNAL BECAME CHAMPS IN THE INTER REGIMENT OUTDOOR ROWING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019

    Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) teams (male and female) won the overall championship winning 5 Gold medals (men’s team - 2 & women’s team - 3). Similarly, SLSC woman rowers won 2 Silver medals and 1 Bronze medal. The Inter Regiment Rowing Competition 2019 was held at Diyawanna Oya waters during August 22 - 23.

  • INTER UNIT ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIP 2019

    4th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps organized the Inter Unit Athletic Championship 2019 on 05th and 06th July 2019 at Public ground, Anuradhapura. 106 Competitors were participated for the event by representing all signal units. Commanding Officer of 4 SLSC, Lt Col PPC Perera psc attended as the Chief Guest for the Opening Ceremony. 7th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps won the Championship by getting 123 points. Subsequently 9 SLSC and 2(V) SLSC won the 2nd and 3rd places respectively. S/281878 Cpl Senevirathna WMLN of 7 SLSC awarded as the Best Athlete for his performances in 100 m and 100 m x 4 events. SO I FMA (N/C) Lt Col SKA Sriyananda SLSC graced the occasion as the Chief Guest for the Closing Ceremony.

  • A BODHI POOJA HELD AT 3 SLSC FOR ESALA POYA DAY

    3rd Signal Regiment arranged a Bodhi Pooja near its Buddhist Shrine in Palaly with the devoted contribution of All Ranks in the unit on 16th July 2019, the Esala Poya Day. The Commanding Officer Lt Col NPA Mendis psc together with All Ranks persistently participated this brief religious observance in merit of all who sacrificed their lives in the name of the 3rd Signal Regiment and Sri Lanka Armed Forces.

  • 4 SLSC ORGANIZED A ALL RANKS GET TOGETHER

    As per the event plan of 28th Anniversary celebrations of 4th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps, the all ranks get together was held at 4 SLSC cricket ground premises on 25th June 2019 with the participation of all Officers and Other Ranks of the unit. The Commanding Officer graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was consisted with a musical concert performed by the beat band of the unit.

    New Inter-operable Radio Communication System, Electronic Rice Steamer, Stand Ginsu Machine, Bottle Cooler and the Vehicle Double Signal System were among the leading innovative products that won awards in the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) - staged ‘Exhibition of Innovations-2019’at Panagoda SFHQ –West premises on Wednesday (3).

  • FORMER COLONEL COMMANDANT BRIG GNANAWEERA VISITED THE 3RD SIGNAL REGIMENT

    The 4TH Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals Brig K A Gnanaweera (Retd) USP made a visit to the 3rd Signal Regiment in Palaly on 1st July 2019 during his personal visit to Jaffna. On the arrival, the Commanding Officer Lt Col NPA Mendis psc received the retired Senior Officer and hosted a courtesy feast at the Officers Mess. Brig Gnanaweera is the present President of the Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen’s Association and Honorary Treasurer of the Association of Retired Flag Rank Officers.

  • COMMANDER SIGNAL BRIGADE VISITS 7TH REGIMENT SRI LANKA SIGNAL CORPS

    The Commander Signal Brigade Col WL Premasiri USP made his maiden visit to the 7th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps Diyathalawa on 24th June 2019. On the arrival Brigade Commander was welcomed by the Commanding Officer Lt Col MR Hameem USP at the main entrance and troops awarded a ceremonial Guard Turnout. Then the Commanding Officer conducted a comprehensive briefing on the state of signal communications in Security Force (Central) AOR and there, the Brigade Commander had a lengthy discussion on communication issues with Commanding Officer and Division Signal Officers. Subsequently he planted a sapling to mark his visit and addressed the troops. The visit was concluded after the tea party with all ranks.

  • NATIONAL MUAYTHAI CHAMPIONSHIP 2019

    The Muaythai, renowned martial art born Thailand had recently became the 53rd sports in the Sri Lanka Army. It was the brainchild of Lt Col P P C Perera psc (CO 4 SLSC) under the guidance of Colonel Commandant of SLSC. Ever Since it found roots in Sri Lankan Army sports fraternity, trainees are pooled at 4 SLSC. They do practices on daily basis under the watchful eyes Lt Col Perera who had qualified in two master grades form Thailand Cultural Commission and International Kru (Master) Association.
