After completing almost one and half years of commendable service as the Commanding Officer of 4th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Lt Col MADS Muthugala USP SLSC relinquished duties on 15th February 2022. He was saluted with a guard turnout after he was warmly received by the Second in Command of the unit Major WHMJ Wijerathna psc SLSC.

Seva Vanitha Branch (SLSC-SVB) of the Sri Lanka Signals Corps takes another step towards building a house for the welfare of the members of the Signal Family. On the request made by the wife of S/279704 S/Sgt Deshapriya RPSK, a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer who died on 06.06.2021 due to a sudden heart attack while on duty at the Sri Lanka Army Seva Vanitha Unit. The foundation stone laying ceremony was commenced on 03.02.2022 with the participation of the Honorary Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLSC-SVB) Mrs. Sajeewani Peiris. The CO, 1 SLSC and CO, 2 (V) SLSC also attended the event.

Sri Lanka Signal Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLSC-SVB) organized its monthly meeting together with a Scholarship award ceremony for those who were selected and did not participate in the award ceremony held at the Army headquarters for a scholarship by the Sri Lanka Army Seva Vanitha Unit for their highest achievement in grade 5 scholarship, GCE O/l exam, and GCE A/l exam held on 30 January 2022 at the Regimental Centre Officers’ Mess. Those scholarships were awarded by the Chairperson SLSC-SVB Mrs. Sajeewani Peiris.

The Royal Basketball Series 3 tournament organized by the Kurunegala District 360° Basketball Academy on 22nd January 2022 at Royal International School, Kurunegala at 0830 hrs onward. The tournament was held in three divisions as under 18 Men, under 18 Women and Open Men. There were ten Basketball teams participated for the Open Men's category including of three team of Corps of Signal.

The 41st National Squash Championship 2021 which was organized by the Sri Lanka Squash Federation held from 6th to 9th January 2022 at Sinhalese Sports Club Squash Courts (SSC) with the participation of 115 Squash players.

Signalmen Wejesiri HASL is belongs to Corps of Signals and two other competitors from other Regts have entered the 70m Recurve of the men team event of the National Archery Championships on 20 & 21 December 2021 at Isuru Dewapriya Ground Pitakotte, assuring the Sri Lanka Army of Gold medal for team event.

Disabled soldier, S/281553 Corporal Weerappriya KHD of 7 SLSC received a wheelchair and a pair of elbow crutches from the Seva Vanitha Branch - Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC). The soldier was disabled due to a trapping blast in the operational area at Nochchikulam and lost both of his legs in the year 2008.
