VISITS OF THE COLONEL COMMANDANT AND THE CHIEF SIGNAL OFFICER TO 7TH REGIMENT SRI LANKA SIGNAL CORPS

The Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals and Chief Signal Officer (CSO), Major General B H M A Wijesinghe USP ndu psc made an official visit to the 7th Sri Lanka Signal Corps at Diyatalawa along with the Director Information Technology Brigadier DAPN Dematanpitiya ndu psc on 18th December 2017.

Having inspected the Guard Turnout accorded by the troops of 7 SLSC, the visiting Colonel Commandant, at invitation of the Commanding Officer 7 SLSC Lieutenant Colonel Lt Col HDJP Weeratunga, then declared open newly built Mercury Mini Mart Complex, Guardroom, Buddhist shrine and the kitchen for ORs. It was followed by a Troops Address and tea with All Ranks.

During the address, CSO appreciated the hard work done and the dedication shown in uplifting the infrastructure facilities of the unit. He explained the achievements of Corps of Signals during the year and highlighted the importance of training the troops, and explained the plans for celebrations of 75th Anniversary of the Corps in the year 2018. Further, CSO intensely inquired into the present status of communication existing in the respective Areas of Responsibility and advised on the timely adaptations and improvements required in the field.
