VISIT OF THE CHINESE DELEGATION TO THE SCHOOL OF SIGNALS

On 08 March 2024, the Chinese Delegation headed by the Deputy Director of the Office for International Military Cooperation of the People's Republic of China Major General Zhang Baoqun paid an Official visit to the School of Signals. He was warmly welcomed to the school by the Chief Signal Officer of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Major General IHMRK Hetath USP ndc psc and the Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Brigadier SJKD Jayawardena USP psc and Chief Instructor of the School of Signals, Major MMUIB Wewegedra psc SLSC at the Officers' Mess.

After hosting the delegation for lunch, a briefing on the training conducted at the School of Signals was given by the Chief Instructor Major Upul Wewegedra at the Communication Laboratory followed by a discussion session on how the Chinese Army can contribute towards the development of the school. Thereafter, the delegation visited the Line Communication and Fiber Laboratories where demonstrations were given by Student Officers and Other Rank Staff.
