VISIT OF CHIEF OF STAFF OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY AND COLONEL COMMANDANT TO THE 5TH REGIMENT SRI LANKA SIGNAL CORPS

Major General DAPN Dematanpitiya ndu psc, Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps paid an official visit to 5th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps on 04 January 2021.

On the arrival he was saluted in a drive-pass by the troops of 5 SLSC at the main entrance and welcomed by the Commanding Officer, 5 SLSC Lieutenant Colonel D M I S Bandara SLSC.

The day’s proceedings were started by planting a Sapling which was followed by a group photograph. Subsequently, Chief of Staff addressed all Ranks and in the address he emphasized his vision on the future development of signallers as their progression of becoming multi task signallers and maintaining the discipline in its high standard. Afterwards, Commanding Officer presented a memento to Chief of Staff on behalf of all Ranks of the unit in order to mark his official visit to the unit.

Finally, Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army joined for a lunch with all Officers at the Officers’ Mess and departs by leaving a congratulatory note in the Visitors Book of the 5 SLSC for the job well-done.

Colonel GGA Gunasekera USP Centre Commandant and Colonel B D Fernando USP psc Deputy Centre Commandant Sri Lanka Signal Corps were also attended for the visit.
