THE TRAINING DAY OF THE FIRST QUARTER OF THE YEAR 2016 HELD SUCCESSFULLY

With the participation of 107 Officers, the Training Day of Sri Lanka Signal Corps held successfully on 23rd March 2016 at HQ 4 SLSC premises, Anuradhapura under the guidance of the Colonel Commandant Maj Gen KRP Rowel RWP USP ndu psc. The Training Day was commenced with an excursion to Ritigala Mountain and Archaeological site in order to enhance knowledge on ancient architecture and also to shed lime light on understanding our great folklore. After the visit, Officers were given opportunity to relax themselves at Nachchiduwa tank to flee away from beat of the heat. This event was followed by a delicious field lunch. In the evening session first lecture was conducted by Retired Irrigation Engineer Mr. Wijaya Basnayake on \'Ancient Irrigation Systems of Sri Lanka\'. During the recreation, Officers were opt to play different games and take part in various activities such as Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Swimming and Gym sessions.\r\n\r\n The Diners\' Club commenced with research a presentation on \'Glimpse of Majestic City of Anuradhapura\' which was conducted by group of officers representing all units. Thereafter, very informative and interested lecture was delivered by the day\'s guest lecturer Mr. Sumedha Karunarathne - Assistant Director of Abhayagiri, Alahana - Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya Projects, and Central Cultural Fund, on \'Conservation of Abhayagiriya Stupa\'. The \'Training Day\'programme for the first quarter of the year 2016 was terminated at around 2200 hours. \r\n
