SRI LANKA SIGNALS CORPS CONTRIBUTES TO CONSTRUCTION OF THE SANDAHIRU SEYA
Sri Lanka Signals Corps extended their contribution to the construction of the Sandahiru Seya Chaithyaya (Pagoda) being constructed in Anuradhapura, by donating Rs. 520,000/= for crafting its Eastern entrance Snadakadapahana (Moon Stone). Maj Gen E P de Z Abeysekera USP, the Deputy Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signals Corps handover the cheque and a miniature of the Sanadakadapahana, to the caretaker of the Sandahiru Seya project Brig W A Ariyarathna RWP RSP, in a simple ceremony held at the site of the Sanadahiru Seya project on Nawam fullmoon Poya Day, 14 February 2014.
Later, Maj Gen E P de Z Abeysekera USP, participated in a bricklaying event at the Sandahiru Seya third \'Pesha Walalla\' layer along with the President of the Signals Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs Sandamalee Abeysekara, members of the branch, and many Signal senior officers were present.
Brig KRP Rowel RWP USP psc, the Chief Signal Officer, Brig DAPN Dematanpitiya psc, the Signal Brigade Commander, Col DR Dharmasiri USP Hdmc, the Signal Regimental Centre Commandant were also presented during the occasion.
