SIGNAL REGIMENTAL CENTRE COMMANDANT VISITED TO 5 SLSC

The Regimental Centre Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Brigadier P A J Peiris made an official visit to the 5th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps at MENERIGAMA, PADUKKA on 20th June 2018 on the invitation of the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel P H N Chandrasekara.

The Regimental Centre Commandant was formally welcomed by awarding a Guard Turnout by 5 SLSC troops that was followed by a series of activities such as tree planting, opening of new ORs’ accommodation building, troops address, unit line visit, All Ranks tea and a Staff Lunch at the Officers’ Mess.

During the troops address, Regimental Centre Commandant appreciated the hard work done by the troops of 5 SLSC and the dedication shown in uplifting the infrastructure facilities of the unit in their new location. He also specially recalled the past memories of 5 SLSC (RFT) when he was performing duties as the Commanding Officer in the infantry role of this regiment. Regimental Centre Commandant emphasized that the importance of training of Officers and Other Ranks, welfare facilities of the soldiers, discipline of the soldiers and present trend of soldiers’ addiction to drugs and drug trafficking etc, and also he added some light about the forthcoming activities of the 75th Anniversary celebrations.
