With the intention of improving the skills on handling the signal equipment by the Junior Signal Operators of the corps of Signals and Other Arms who are performing duties in Divisions and Brigade headquarters, a 'Signal Refresher Course' was organized and conducted in 54 Division with the supervision of 4 SLSC.
28 x Other Ranks belongs to under command Brigades and Battalions of 54 Infantry Division participated for this 05 Days Course which was commenced on 22 March 2021.
The course was successfully conducted with the direction of General Officer Commanding 54 Infantry Division, Major General AAIJ Bandara RWP RSP USP ndu and other senior staff officers of the Division with the assistance of Lieutenant Colonel MADS Muthugala USP SLSC, CO – 4 SLSC and troops of 4 SLSC.
Many practical sessions were organized during the course on radio operating, exchange operating, and battery charging, tuning Satellite Televisions and handling of Public Address equipment in order to improve the practical skills of the personnel.
Further, a certificate awarding ceremony was conducted at the end of the Course on 27 March 2021 with the participation of Senior Staff Officers of 54 Division to appreciate the performance of the students.
