SHINING SIGNALLER AT THE CAVALRY SUPER CROSS - 2017
The 7th Cavalry Super Cross organized by the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) was held on 2nd July 2017 at Pangolla Supper Cross Track. This mega event was well poised with the participation over 165 leading racing drivers and riders to test their dreadful skills and extreme techniques over the best handling of their much loved machines.
As the event progressed, Signalman De Silva BK of the Corps of Signals came out of the ashes and displayed his outstanding performances by defeating many experienced riders in the race where he finally clinched into the following titles:
Group MX RACING over 100cc upto 125cc (2T) - 1st Runners Up
Group MX RACING over 175cc upto 250cc (2T) - 4th Place
The achievement of this young promising Signaller was appreciated by the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals Major General B H M A Wijesinghe USP ndu psc and all the members of the Corps. Having met the rider after the event, the Colonel Commandant further mentioned that our appreciation should be extended to the Sri Lanka Army Drivers and Riders Association and to the Team Signals for their great effort in elevating and promoting such youngsters to take up positions shoulder to shoulder in the forums where many experts perform.
