Signals Seva Vanitha branch conducted a sago dansala in front of the temple of sacred tooth relic, Kandy. The event was held during the morning hours on Poson Poya day 21st June 2024 with the participation of the president of the Signals Seva Vanitha branch and other members.
Sago dansala was graced and opened by the most venerable Niyangoda Vijithasiri thero, deputy chief incumbent of the Malwathu chapter. Venerable Seelarathana thero from Bodhirukkharamaya, Buwelikada was also present for the event.
The event was organized with the intention of quenching the thirst of devotees coming from all over the island to worship the sacred tooth relic. 15,000 cups of sago were prepared and donated symbolizing the generosity according to the teachings of Buddhism.
Also it is reiterated that ingredients and requirement for the preparation of sago was donated by distinguish members of Signals Seva Vanitha branch, as well as all Signal units and other establishments. Moreover, it is noteworthy to highlight the appreciated work done by the School of Signals in preparation of sago and organizing the event.
The event was graced by the Colonel Commandant and Senior officers of Sri Lanka Signals Corps.
