PROGRAMME FOR INTRODUCTION OF INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY EQUIPMENT FOR OTHER RANKERS

This program was conducted for Other Rankers who are selected to initial interviews for the other rank commission. Several regiments participated in this program including the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, the Gajaba Regiment, the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps, the Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps, the Sri Lanka Army Special Forces Regiment, Sri Lanka Commando, the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and also Sri Lanka Signal Corps. The purpose of this program was to improve the knowledge of Other Rankers and give them basic knowledge of Information and communication technology.

This program covers several subjects including Basics of Information Technology, Cyber Security and Communication, and Public Address Systems. Specially, ways and means of cyber threat identification and best practices of handling social media was covered by this program. The Program was conducted by knowledgeable Commissioned officers for these subjects.

At the end of the program Brigadier Upul Kodithuwakku Director Personnel Administration (DPA) was addressed and he was describe the value of the program and the importance of these subjects nowadays.
