PLANNING STAFF WORKSHOP OF MCIP 2017 BEGAN IN COLOMBO

Planning Staff Workshop 3 (PSW-3) of the Multinational Communications Interoperability Programme (MCIP) of Pacific Endeavour 2017 commenced on Monday (29) with the participation of 50 officials including 39 military officers from 19 countries, at Hotel Hilton Colombo in collaboration with the United State Pacific Command (USPACOM) and Sri Lanka Army.\r\n\r\nThis programme will be on its full-swing for five days, from 29th May to 2nd June 2017, with the objective of improving International cooperation during Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Operations in the Asia Pacific Theatre.\r\n\r\nDuring the PSW-3, delegation will interact with number of prominent personalities from the Sri Lankan Armed Forces and civil institutions including Director General Disaster Management Centre. Several Senior Sri Lankan officers from Armed Forces have been attending the MCIP annually since 1983 and Two Senior Officers from the Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Air Force participate for PSW-3 this year.\r\n\r\nThe Opening Remarks of the Ceremonial Opening was delivered by the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals and the Chief Signal Officer of the Sri Lanka Army Major General B H M A Wijesinghe USP ndu psc. The final programme of the MCIP is scheduled to be held in California.
