OFFICIAL LOGO OF THE CORPS OF SIGNALS 75TH ANNIVERSARY

Official Logo of the 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) was unveiled by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, attending as the Chief Guest of the Logo and Web Launching Ceremony and the Media Briefing conducted in the evening on Wednesday, 28th March 2018 at “The Blue” Conference Hall of Hilton - Colombo.

The purpose of this official logo is to emphasize the remarkable milestone of SLSC in the year 2018, the 75th Anniversary and to use it fervently in all events of celebrations.

The key elements of this Logo are sliding from the insignia of SLSC, with main emphasis on technology developments and the unique role in contexts of present day and tomorrow. In view of that, the globe has been made the central focus point to highlight on the element of world unity as well as integration through the limitless Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and developing ties in the global affairs where the perpetual battlefront. The colours of Green, Dark Blue and Sky Blue have been incorporated to keep the values in line with the functions of the Corps while matching with the Signals Flag whereas Green represents the Signals involvement in all the aspects of land communication while Dark Blue and Sky Blue represent the maritime and aerospace communication respectively. In the centre of the Logo, insignia of the Corps of Signals "Mercury" is embedded keeping the globe in the background, which ultimately means the possibility of Signals communication and involvement in all around the world; on ground, seas and air.

The other elements within the Logo have been carefully balanced and selected to make it more eye-catching as an Anniversary Logo that standout more dynamic in the merriment. The six stars within the Logo highlight C5I, which are Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Cyber and Intelligence. The Symbol of the stars used since the stars characteristically have the capacity to see the world from a higher platform as to how it revolves and also stars used as a well known symbol when it comes to the glamour in military.

The “bolt” is used to highlight on radio signals as it recognizes as a symbol for communication as well as speed and effect. The ‘dhammachakra’ in gold depicts the ‘eight-folded path’ representing dhamma, which emphasizes discipline and honour to a cause. Finally, the gold coloured “75” and the word Anniversary and the name of the Corps clearly indicate the cause of the Logo.
