THE NEWLY CONSTRUCTED HOUSE DONATED TO A FAMILY OF A FALLEN WAR HERO
According to the concept of Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General A W J C de Silva RWP VSV USP ndu psc, the Housing Project Stage I for the families of fallen war heroes and differently-able soldiers has successfully accomplished and the ceremony was held on 12th October 2015 at the Defence College Auditorium. The Chief Guest, Mr. Karunasena Hettiarachchi, Secretary of Defence handed over the newly constructed house to a family of late war hero, Sgt Gunawardane PR, 5 SLSC who has made supreme sacrifice to bring the much awaited peace to our motherland on 09th February 2009 at Vishwamadu.
On 23rd October 2015, the house warming ceremony was held with the participation of their relatives, officers and other ranks of 2(V) SLSC at Panama, Ampara. The total project cost Rs 1.5 million was funded by Sri Lanka Army. The project was supervised and completed by 2(V) SLSC.
