NEWLY APPOINTED COMMANDING OFFICER OF 9TH REGIMENT SRI LANKA SIGNAL CORPS ASSUMES OFFICE

Major KMIP Hemapala USP psc SLSC assumed duties as the 11th Commanding officer of 9th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps on 21 August 2023.

In accordance with military traditions, Major KMIP Hemapala USP psc SLSC reviewed the guard turnout on his arrival and he was given with colorful parade commanded by the Second in Command (overlooking) Major P Ratnayaka USP SLSC.

Subsequently, the newly appointed Commanding Officer symbolically signed an official document to signify the acceptance of the new appointment amidst religious observances.

Following the Regimental tradition the new Commanding Officer resembled the assuming of duties by planting a sapling followed by a group photograph. Then he joined an All Ranks tea, where he shared his thoughts with Officers and Other Ranks.

Later, he addressed the under command troops stressing upon his determined ideas towards the way forward as the Electronic Warfare Regiment in near future. The day's programme culminated after visiting the camp premises.
