Major General HMLD Herath RSP USP psc assumed office as the 15th Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Sri Lanka Signal Corps on 06 June 2022 at the SLSC Regimental Centre.
The Colonel Commandant was greeted and welcomed by the Centre Commandant Brigadier GS Fonseka USP psc and was accorded with a Guard Turnout at the main entrance. Thereafter Colonel Commandant placed a floral wreath at the fallen war heroes’ monument in remembrance of fallen war heroes. Then he was invited to receive the salute in the Guard of Honour at the Regimental Centre parade ground.
Subsequently Colonel Commandant placed his signature in a formal document amidst religious observances to signify the acceptance of the new office. Then, tea party was conducted with all ranks and he addressed all officers who have participated of day and unit line officers via a webcast and emphasized his future plans for the SLSC. The day’s proceedings ended with a lunch with all officers at Officers’ mess at RHQ SLSC.
