Major General PAJ Peiris ndu assumed office as the 14th Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Sri Lanka Signal Corps on 18 January 2021 at the SLSC Regimental Centre.
The Colonel Commandant was greeted and welcomed by the Centre Commandant Colonel GGA Gunasekara USP and was accorded with a Guard Turnout at the main entrance. Thereafter Colonel Commandant placed a floral wreath at the fallen war heroes’ monument in remembrance of fallen war heroes. Then he was invited to receive the salute in the Guard of Honour at the Regimental Centre parade ground.
Subsequently Colonel Commandant placed his signature in a formal document amidst religious observances to signify the acceptance of the new office. Then he addressed all officers via a webcast and emphasized his future plans for the SLSC. The day’s proceedings ended with a tea party with all senior officers.
