Major General Adeepa Thilakaratne on Thursday (27) assumed duties as the new Chief Signal Officer (CSO) in the Army during a simple ceremony at his office in the Army Headquarters at Sri Jayewardenepura.
Amidst religious observances and ‘Seth Pirith’ chanted by a Buddhist monk, Major General Thilakaratne placed his signature for an official document and signified the acceptance of the new appointment.
After the formalities, he spoke to the officers and other rankers and shared refreshments. Major General Prabhath Dematanpitiya, SLSC, Colonel Commandant, Brigadier P.A.J Peiris, Director Information Technology, Brigadier W.L Premasiri Signal Commander Brigade, Brigadier L.S.P Perera, SLSC Centre Commandant, Officers Commanding and a representative gathering were present at the occasion.
