MAIDEN VISITS OF THE COLONEL COMMANDANT AND THE CHIEF SIGNAL OFFICER TO SIGNAL UNITS
The Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals and the Chief Signal Officer (CSO), Major General B H M A Wijesinghe USP ndu psc made his maiden official visits to the Signal Regiments and the School of Signals after assuming his new offices. The following sequential visits were taken place from 25th to 30th April 2017 as the first segment of the initial visits to the Signals establishments located away from the Signals premises in Panagoda:\r\n\r\n• 25th April : 4 SLSC – Anuradhapura and 9 SLSC - Kilinochchi \r\n• 26th April : 3 SLSC – Palay and 6 SLSC (IT) – Jaffna \r\n• 27th April : 1 SLSC – Mullaithivu\r\n• 28th April : School of Signals – Kandy \r\n• 29th April : 7 SLSC – Diyatalawa\r\n• 30th April : 2 (V) SLSC – Welikanda \r\n\r\nThe day\'s events at the each place was conducted with the subsequent events of formalities such as awarding of Guard Turnout, briefing by the Commanding Officer / Commandant, unit line visit, addressing All Ranks, tree planting etc followed by courtesy feast with All Ranks.\r\n\r\nDuring the visits, CSO intensely inquired into the present status of communication existing in the respective Areas of Responsibility and advised on the timely adaptations and improvements required in the field.
