FELICITATION TO MAJOR GENERAL N M HETTIARACHCHI USP psc Hdmc

The Corps of Signals conducted a formal ceremony in felicitation of Major General N M Hettiarachchi USP psc Hdmc on 23rd March 2018 at the Signals Regimental Centre premises on his recent promotion as a Two Star General.

Signal Regimental Centre Commandant Brigadier P A J Peiris welcomed Major General N M Hettiarachchi at the main entrance of the Corps of Signals where formal procedures commenced as troops awarded a Guard Turnout at 0930 hrs. Then he paid floral tribute before the Signals Monument in memory of fallen brave men of the Corps of Signals. Afterward he was awarded with an effusive Guard of Honour followed by a group photograph with Senior Signal Officers at the Officers Mess, planting a sapling at the unit line and a Mid-day Tea with All Ranks at the main Auditorium.

Finally, the day’s programme concluded with a special lunch held at the Signal Officers’ Mess where confirming to the traditional practices of regimentation, Major General N M Hettiarachchi presented a valuable plaque to the Corps of Signals to mark this great achievement in his military career.
