Signals Seva Vanitha branch donated a walking frame for a spouse of a Signal war veteran. The donation was held on Thursday 28th March at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka, Colombo.
WO I SM Jayarathna (Retired) has served SLSC from 1974 to 1996 and has retired on completion of 22 years of service. The veteran signaler had served as the RSM of 1st Regiment SLSC.
Mrs Shiyalatha Gunarathna, the wife of the veteran had been undergoing treatments at Accident and Orthopedic service for five days following a domestic injury. The patient had faced a surgery and had been advised to use a walking frame.
The Signals Seva Vanitha branch members visited the veteran family at the Hospital on Thursday in executing the donation. Also, all of them made it an occasion to interact with a beloved wife of a heroic signaler.
