DISABLED WAR HERO RECEIVED A WHEELCHAIR AND A PAIR OF ELBOW CRUTCHES FROM THE SEVA VANITHA BRANCH OF CORPS OF SIGNALS

Disabled soldier, S/281553 Corporal Weerappriya KHD of 7 SLSC received a wheelchair and a pair of elbow crutches from the Seva Vanitha Branch - Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC). The soldier was disabled due to a trapping blast in the operational area at Nochchikulam and lost both of his legs in the year 2008.

The donation programme was conducted under the close supervision of the Chairperson, Sri Lanka Signal Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLSC-SVB), Mrs Sajeewani Peiris. The wheelchair was handed over by Mr Amila Yapa and his family together with Chairperson of SLSC - SVB Mrs Sajeewani Peiris and Vice President of SLSC - SVB Mrs Shashika Herath.The pair of elbow crutches was handed over by Chairperson SLSC - SVB Mrs Sajeewani Peiris accompanied with Vice President of SLSC - SVB Mrs Shashika Herath in his house premises located at Nawagamuwa on 29 December 2021. The Value of the wheelchair and a pair of elbow crutches were around Rs.30000.00, patronaged by Mr Amila Yapa (the Wheelchair) and Mr Zuhury Hussain (the pair of elbow crutches). The fund sources were coordinated by Vice President of SLSC - SVB Mrs Shashika Herath.The donation program was held strictly complying with the COVID 19 Health guidelines.
