The Corps of Signals conducted a formal ceremony on 4 June 2019 at the Signals Regimental Centre premises in felicitation of senior officer who was promoted as Two Star General, Major General KMRP Karunathilaka psc.
At the commencement of the day’s programme, Signal Regimental Centre Commandant Brigadier LSP Perera USP welcomed Major General KMRP Karunathilaka psc at the main entrance of the Corps of Signals where formal procedures commenced as troops awarded a Guard Turnout. Then he paid floral tribute before the Signals Monument in memory of fallen war heroes of the Corps of Signals. Afterward, he was awarded with an effusive Guard of Honour.
Newly promoted senior officer attended a group photograph with Senior Signal Officers at the Officers' Mess. Then he planted a sapling at the unit line and attended Mid-day Tea with All Ranks at the main Auditorium and entertained special lunch at the Officers' Mess. Towards the end of day’s proceedings, newly promoted senior officer customarily presented memento to the Signal Officers' Mess that was received by the Colonel Commandant Major General NM Hettiarachchi VSV USP psc Hdmc.
