CORPS OF SIGNALS COMMENCED THE 74TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS WITH DUE RESPECT TO THE FALLEN HEROES

In line with the 74th Anniversary celebrations, the Corps of Signals ceremonially conducted the Remembrance Ceremony in tribute to the fallen brave-men on 16th October 2017. The ceremony was held before the Corps of Signals Monument at the Signal Regimental Centre Panagoda as the first event of the series organized for the 74th Anniversary that falls on 19th October 2017.

The event was graced by the Colonel Commandant, Maj Gen B H M A Wijesinghe USP ndu psc with the participation of serving and retired senior officers, members of the Signals Seva Vanitha Branch as well as parents, widows and children of the fallen heroes who made supreme sacrifice in hard earning the respectable peace in the motherland.

The programme of the event started at 1630 hrs as the dedicated squad of troops marched in for the salute and concluded with the \"Retreat\", managing traditional military formalities, religious rituals and laying of flower wreaths in between. Nearly 190 families out of 272 deceased heroes attended the ceremony.
