The Commander Signal Brigade, Colonel HDJP Weerathunga made his maiden official visit to 7th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps Diyatalawa on 20th June 2023.
Major D S L Kumarasiri psc, the Commanding Officer warmly welcomed Colonel HDJP Weerathunga on his arrival and a subsequent ceremonial guard turnout was awarded at the entrance in accordance with military formalities. Then he planted a ‘Na tree’ to mark his visit to 7th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps and posed in a group photograph with all ranks. Subsequently the Commanding Officer conducted a comprehensive briefing on the status quo of ICT of 7 SLSC.
Later, the Commander Signal Brigade addressed the troops and highlighted on how to harness professionalism whilst preserving highest standard of discipline during their careers and the importance of being the best battalion of the corps. At the end of his address the Commanding Officer presented a memento to mark his visit. Thereafter, the chief guest attended for an all ranks tea and spared his time with officers and other ranks. Subsequently he visited the camp premises too.
Before concluding the day’s programme, the Commander Signal Brigade shared his views with officers during the lunch at Officers’ Mess and left compliments in the Visitors’ Book.
